Welcome to my safe space for body awareness and active relaxation.
One-on-one or in a group. Online or in the studio.
In Somatic Yin, the focus is on letting go and surrender — in Embodied Movement, on E-Motion: on letting feelings flow.
A practice for:
Words can be confusing—but body language is straightforward. Here, you’ll learn to observe and interpret your own feelings without judgment. With a little practice, this tool will always be at your disposal and help you achieve greater inner freedom.
Learning to feel makes you feel more alive and awake. Somatic bodywork is about “waking down”: you connect your mind and body and fill your physical space with awareness and presence.
Here, we create space. A space that can naturally fill itself with whatever matters most to you right now. Moments of stillness where you can listen to yourself and take care of yourself. And where you can simply be.

In a nutshell: Meditative, free movement with continuous guidance. In this class, you’ll be guided through a process of inner self-exploration using words and music. Through imagery and questions, you’re invited to let go completely and open yourself up to the experience. In Yin, the movements are small and confined to the yoga mat; in Movement, there are also larger movements throughout the room.
Ideally, you’re in a state of curious exploration. You listen to your body, turning inward, and move spontaneously and instinctively. This “losing yourself in the moment” is very healing for the nervous system. You’re sending a signal to your subconscious: I’m turning my attention to myself. I am enough. Right here and now, I am all that matters.
When your mind feels “stuck,” conscious movement can be the key to getting back into the flow. But not every movement is automatically conscious. In Somatic Movement, you learn to stay connected—to feel yourself rather than distract yourself. This creates space and openness for new perspectives.
When you become present and patient, a new path to your inner world opens up. Movement here becomes a dialogue with yourself—not through thoughts, but through feelings, symbols, and images. It’s an exciting journey that’s well worth taking.
For many years, I tried everything to calm my overactive nervous system. As soon as I sat down for a guided meditation or a Yin Yoga class, my mind would race—and by the end, I was more tense than before. Somatic movement is so special because you truly feel supported during the session. Various tools help you ground yourself in the here and now. Instead of stopping your thoughts, the focus is on visualizing and becoming aware of your body. Nothing brings the nervous system into a state of balance as reliably as this.

My name is Alina Mavis. Until my early 30s, I was everywhere except in my own body. Lots of action, lots of distractions. Until my body said “stop.” I developed ME/CFS and, for over a year, had so little energy that I couldn’t hold a conversation for more than two minutes. What followed was the most difficult task of my life: looking within and tuning in to my feelings. In baby steps, I began to revive my physical home. And honestly: at first, it felt like dying. Every one of my cells carried traumatic experiences from my childhood. So much pain. “Feel your body” was anything but an appealing invitation at that time. But it was also the beginning of a love affair. Because my body was right. It finally wanted to heal. Through somatic movement, I learned to be present in safe spaces and to turn toward myself. Today, my body is my best friend and teacher. I know its language and am grateful to it for every symptom.
